Yay breakfast!!  I love the weekends because I have time to actually play in the kitchen and experiment with flavours.  Today I made a fruit salad with a twist: mixing the sugary tartness of my favorite citrus fruits (blood orange, cara cara, and pink grapefruit) with the assertive and spicy flavours of basil and a candied lime and jalepeno sauce.  Very cool!

In order to get my required protein fix I also made some southwestern polenta cakes (again, with jalepeno, 5 year aged cheddar, and bacon) and an (unfortunately overdone) fried egg.  Overall, very tasty!
